Global private capital investment firm Carlyle has announced the launch of Revera Energy, a platform dedicated to investing in and developing sustainable and clean energy infrastructure solutions in Australia and the UK. Revera will focus on projects involving battery storage, renewable power, and green hydrogen. Carlyle's initial investment in Amp Energy in 2021 and subsequent investments have paved the way for Revera Energy's launch. In Australia, projects include a 250 MW in-construction battery storage project, 3.7 GW of wind and solar projects, and a 1 GW green hydrogen project, with additional battery storage projects in the pipeline. In the UK, Revera is working on advancing over 1.2 GW of late-stage battery storage projects to enhance grid resiliency and support decarbonization. The Chairman of Revera Energy, Richard Hoskins, expressed excitement about the platform's launch, highlighting plans to utilize Carlyle's global infrastructure platform for growth. Revera Energy will also benefit from financial support and relationships with key financing partners such as Nomura Infrastructure & Power, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and others. This move by Carlyle follows the establishment of Telis Energy in 2022, focusing on renewable energy projects in Europe with a target project pipeline of over 10 GW by 2030.
