However, challenges such as cost reduction, infrastructure development, and regulatory alignment need to be addressed for successful green hydrogen implementation. Competition from alternative low-carbon solutions and global producers poses a threat to the export potential of green hydrogen in the region. To ensure the success of green hydrogen initiatives, ASEAN governments must integrate their hydrogen strategies with broader low-carbon industrial policies and prioritize regional cooperation. Public support for green hydrogen hinges on policymakers' ability to deliver on promises and address concerns over safety and affordability. Stronger alignment of national efforts and adherence to global standards will be crucial in shaping the future of green hydrogen in Southeast Asia.
