ORLEN Group has introduced Multifuel, a groundbreaking technology developed in partnership with Horus Energia to enable efficient energy production using hydrogen, natural gas, or a combination of both. This system, designed for industrial users, supports the transition to cleaner energy sources while maintaining operational flexibility. Multifuel can be integrated into new or existing energy generation units, enhancing power efficiency by up to 5%. Its real-time fuel switching capability, managed by a smart control system, allows seamless adjustments between hydrogen and natural gas without disrupting operations. Prototype tests have shown that blending hydrogen with natural gas can boost generation efficiency by over 5%. ORLEN Group sees Multifuel as a key component in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 in Poland's economy, promoting clean fuel adoption and offering a versatile solution for industrial decarbonisation efforts.
