In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed by Saudi company ACWA Power with international partners to establish a Green Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Export value chain between Saudi Arabia and Europe. Led by the Saudi Ministry of Energy and with the presence of Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, the Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Export Workshop aimed at assessing market demand and feasibility of large-scale renewable energy projects for export. The agreements focus on creating energy transmission corridors to deliver electricity to Europe, enhancing supply reliability, and increasing the efficiency of cross-border energy infrastructure. The Kingdom's role in the IMEC project, driven by its unique geographical location and competitive advantages, is pivotal for the project's success. These agreements demonstrate Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing global energy security, supporting regional and international interconnection projects, and driving the transition towards a sustainable energy future in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The workshop showcased Saudi Arabia's advancements in diversifying its energy mix, fostering regional and international integration in clean energy, and solidifying its position as a reliable global energy supplier and a key player in the economic corridor connecting East and West.
