The 11th Energy Infrastructure Forum commenced in Copenhagen, featuring CINEA's active engagement in discussions centered around expediting the development of Europe's energy infrastructure to meet the EU's decarbonization objectives. Symbolically, five grant agreements were signed at the event for projects funded under CEF Energy, reflecting a commitment to advancing key infrastructure and Projects of Common Interest (PCIs). The forum, organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Utilities, serves as a crucial platform for EU institutions and stakeholders to exchange insights on the European energy market's progression, with a notable emphasis on infrastructure and PCIs. Noteworthy projects showcased include the Italian H2 Backbone project for hydrogen transmission, the TAG pipeline retrofit in Austria for hydrogen transport, and the upgrade of a hydro pumped storage facility in Slovakia for renewable energy integration. These initiatives aim to bolster Europe's competitiveness, facilitate energy market integration, and promote the shift towards cleaner energy systems. The Director of CINEA, Paloma Aba Garrote, expressed pride in including these projects in CINEA's portfolio, highlighting their significance in advancing Projects of Common Interest and driving Europe's energy transition. The successful grant awards underscore the pivotal role of CEF Energy in catalyzing innovative solutions for future energy challenges, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaboration in shaping a sustainable energy landscape.
