The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) in Visakhapatnam is partnering with Magnivia Ventures to establish the IIPE-Magnivia Business and Energy Research Park at Sabbavaram. This collaborative initiative, backed by an estimated investment of Rs 150 crore, is aimed at accelerating energy innovation, facilitating technology transfer, and enabling the commercial deployment of deep-tech solutions in the energy sector. The research park will feature cutting-edge facilities dedicated to green hydrogen, advanced battery materials, carbon capture, and other frontier energy technologies. To ensure a seamless transition from academic research to industrial applications, the partnership will provide industry fellowships to researchers and faculty members. These fellowships will foster direct collaboration with industry experts, leading to joint research projects focused on addressing industry challenges. The research park will also offer specialized training programs in emerging energy technologies, providing hands-on experience with advanced equipment and exposure to industrial practices. Prof. Shalivahan Srivastava, the director of IIPE, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, highlighting the goal of developing sustainable energy solutions through focused research and development. The partnership between IIPE and Magnivia Ventures signifies a crucial step forward in India's energy research landscape, leveraging state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities at IIPE's Vizag campus. Additionally, the collaboration coincided with IIPE's fifth convocation, where Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, shared valuable corporate advice with the graduating students. Misra emphasized the importance of effectively introducing new ideas in a corporate setting, advising on strategies to navigate interactions with experienced colleagues.
