Doncaster-based Clean Power Hydrogen (CPH2) has partnered with Irish energy developer Constant Energy to enhance green hydrogen production in Ireland. The collaboration involves a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) for utilizing CPH2's Membrane-Free Electrolyser (MFE) technology at the Killala Energy Hub in County Mayo. This hub aims to integrate wind and solar energy sources to produce green hydrogen using CPH2's innovative technology. The produced hydrogen will serve purposes like powering gas plants, feeding the local gas grid, and operating a hydrogen filling station for fuel cell electric vehicles. The MOU outlines Constant Energy's intentions to purchase an initial five 1MW MFE220 units from CPH2, with plans to upscale to 200 MW capacity over the next decade. The companies are set to progress negotiations towards a binding Sale and Purchase Agreement as part of this partnership. Executives from both sides have expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the potential of the MFE technology to drive efficient green hydrogen production and grid balancing in Ireland. Jon Duffy, CEO of Clean Power Hydrogen, has emphasized the significance of this partnership in advancing the commercialization of the membrane-free technology.
