SMART TESTSOLUTIONS in Stuttgart has unveiled a groundbreaking impedance spectroscopy system for fuel cell stacks as part of the FullStack TS fuel cell test bench project. This new technology allows for time-synchronous EIS measurements on numerous individual cells within a cell stack, providing crucial insights into the electrochemical processes occurring in the system. The system's decentralized design, compact measuring heads, and galvanically insulated setup ensure high signal fidelity and safety, eliminating the need to route high voltages outside the temperature chamber. Moreover, the system is cost-effective and enables time-synchronous measurements on a large number of channels, a significant advancement compared to existing impedance spectroscopy devices. Wolfgang Neu, the Managing Director of SMART TESTSOLUTIONS, highlights the robust industrial hardware, modular design, and powerful software of the newly developed MCM U02AC modules that make high-resolution multi-channel EIS measurements feasible under challenging conditions.
