The National Development and Reform Commission of Fujian Province is implementing the 'Medium and Long-Term Plan for Innovative Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2025-2035)' to propel the advancement of the hydrogen energy sector. Recognizing hydrogen as an abundant, green, and low-carbon secondary energy source, the plan aims to contribute to building a clean, low-carbon energy system and achieving carbon peaking and neutrality goals. By formulating this plan, Fujian Province seeks to capitalize on its industrial by-product hydrogen resources, innovation platforms, and technological reserves to foster the growth of the hydrogen energy industry. The plan's development tasks span two stages, focusing on establishing innovation platforms, green electricity-based hydrogen production projects, hydrogen refueling stations, fuel cell vehicles, and large-scale commercial applications. The roadmap emphasizes utilizing industrial by-product hydrogen in the initial stage and gradually transitioning to renewable energy sources for hydrogen production. Additionally, the plan envisions creating a robust industry chain covering production, storage, transportation, refueling, and diverse applications like transportation and energy storage. By 2035, Fujian Province aims to establish itself as a significant green hydrogen and hydrogen-based green fuel supply base, transportation hub, and bunkering center, with a substantial annual total output value. The plan's comprehensive approach and ambitious targets signify a positive outlook for the future development of the hydrogen energy industry in Fujian Province.
