Honeywell has partnered with NTPC Green in an ambitious project to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as part of the Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh, India. The collaboration involves exploring the use of Honeywell's eFining technology to produce SAF from carbon dioxide captured from NTPC power plants and green hydrogen. The primary goal is to support decarbonization efforts, assist airlines in meeting carbon reduction targets, and enhance India's energy security. The initiative, led by NTPC Ltd., aims to blend SAF in jet fuel to drive green hydrogen projects in the aviation sector. Honeywell's expertise in SAF production complements NTPC's leadership in green hydrogen development, making SAF a critical tool for decarbonizing the aviation industry. The partnership is expected to be completed by mid-2025 and will establish India as a hub for SAF production, contributing to the country's emissions reduction goals. By leveraging Honeywell's solutions, the collaboration will address emissions from thermal energy, promote green hydrogen adoption, diversify feedstocks for SAF production, and assist the Indian aviation sector in achieving its environmental objectives.
