AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have joined forces in a strategic partnership to establish a green energy corridor linking India and Northwestern Europe. The collaboration involves the transport and distribution of low-carbon fuels, including sustainable marine and aviation fuels, with a focus on hydrogen-based fuels. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the partners aim to create infrastructure for safe handling and storage of these fuels at the port and along the entire route. The goal is to connect India's net-zero industrial zones to demand centers in Europe, potentially enabling exports of up to one million tons annually, valued at around USD 1 billion. AM Green's plans to produce five million tons of green ammonia by 2030, which includes one million tons of green hydrogen, are set to kick off in Kakinada. The Port of Rotterdam, a key energy gateway in Europe, will play a crucial role in the logistics and distribution of hydrogen-based fuels across the continent. The collaboration supports national and regional decarbonization efforts, aligning with India's Green Hydrogen Mission and the EU's climate targets. The CEOs of both entities expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the significance of building a sustainable energy connection between the two regions.
