GONDAN Shipbuilders has successfully delivered the cutting-edge Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV) Austri Enabler to Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind. Designed by Salt Ship Design, the Austri Enabler represents a significant advancement in the offshore wind energy sector. This vessel, the fourth and final in the series of sister vessels from Gondan, follows the Nordri Enabler, Sudri Enabler, and Vestri Enabler, marking a new era in offshore wind farm operations. The Austri Enabler has secured a 12-month contract, with options for extension, and is scheduled to commence operations off the U.K. coast in the third quarter of 2025. This vessel has been specifically developed to optimize activities in offshore wind farms, serving as a key support vessel during the commissioning and maintenance of wind turbines at sea. With dimensions of 88 meters in length and 19.7 meters in beam, the Austri Enabler is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. It can accommodate a total of 120 individuals, comprising 97 technicians and 23 crew members. Noteworthy features include a 3D-compensated offshore crane, an active gangway with a 30-meter reach, an integrated elevator with a capacity for 26 people, and a 21-meter-diameter helipad. The vessel's propulsion system utilizes cycloidal propellers powered by liquid hydrogen carrier (LOHC)-ready technology, positioning it as a platform capable of achieving fully emission-free operations in the marine industry.
