Viking Cruise Line celebrated the addition of the Viking Vesta to its fleet during a handover ceremony at Fincantieri's shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The Viking Vesta, a small ship with 499 staterooms accommodating up to 998 guests, will embark on its inaugural season with voyages in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Viking's Chairman and CEO, Torstein Hagen, expressed pride in welcoming the Viking Vesta and offering travellers new opportunities for exploration in Viking comfort. The company's commitment to sustainable cruising was further highlighted with the announcement of plans for hydrogen-powered ships. The Viking Libra, utilizing a hybrid propulsion system with liquefied hydrogen and fuel cells, is set for delivery in late 2026, while the Viking Astrea is expected to join the fleet in 2027.
