The Adani Group has launched India's first hydrogen-powered truck for mining logistics in Chhattisgarh. These trucks, capable of carrying 40 tonnes over a 200-kilometre range, aim to replace diesel vehicles used in the company's logistics operations. The initiative reflects a commitment to cleaner transportation and sustainability. The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh flagged off the first truck in Raipur, marking a significant step towards reducing carbon footprint in the state. Adani Enterprises, in collaboration with energy technology firms and auto manufacturers, is developing hydrogen fuel cell battery-operated trucks for cargo transport, showcasing innovative solutions for the mining industry. By incorporating smart technology and three hydrogen tanks, these trucks are set to revolutionize the logistics sector. The project highlights a shift towards decarbonisation and responsible mining practices. Additionally, the use of hydrogen in mining operations not only reduces emissions and noise but also contributes to lowering India's oil imports and carbon footprint. Adani Natural Resources, a key player in the project, is pioneering sustainable mining practices through initiatives like autonomous dozer push technologies, solar power utilization, and tree transplanters for tree relocation.
