French company HDF Energy and Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) have joined forces in a strategic partnership to drive the adoption of green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in Vietnam's maritime sector. The collaboration will focus on integrating hydrogen solutions into various aspects of maritime operations, including vessels, ports, and logistics. HDF Energy will lead in developing retrofit and onshore hydrogen solutions, while VIMC will provide operational expertise and support. This initiative not only aims to promote sustainable practices but also aligns with Vietnam's ambitious net-zero 2050 targets. Furthermore, the partnership seeks to secure global climate financing to establish a scalable model for clean maritime energy. HDF Energy emphasizes the shared commitment with VIMC to deliver clean, reliable, and scalable energy solutions for the maritime industry. This agreement is part of HDF Energy's broader strategy in Asia, which includes similar collaborations in Indonesia and the Philippines. In Indonesia, HDF Energy's subsidiary has partnered with local entities to explore decarbonization efforts in the maritime sector using green hydrogen. In the Philippines, the company is working with the Department of Transportation to leverage green hydrogen for the next generation of maritime vessels. Additionally, in Vietnam, HDF Energy has teamed up with ACST to advance green hydrogen solutions, such as retrofitting diesel ferries with hydrogen fuel cells.
