Provaris Energy Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, a global shipping leader, to propel the commercialization of its compressed hydrogen shipping solutions. The agreement includes the development, construction, and operation studies of the H2Neo Carrier and H2Leo Barge over a 12-month period. 'K' LINE will provide technical and operational assistance to Provaris, leveraging its expertise to aid in the development of operational cost models and vessel newbuild programs. Provaris aims to address Europe's increasing demand for low-carbon hydrogen by 2030, with a focus on potential import opportunities for Germany. The H2Neo Carrier can transport 27,000 m³ of compressed hydrogen and has received FEED design class approval, while the H2Leo Barge is designed for port-side storage and last-mile delivery.
