Lhyfe, a company based in Nantes, France, specializing in green and renewable hydrogen production, recently received a €149M grant from the French government for its 'Green Horizon' project. The project, located near the Grand Canal of Le Havre, aims to produce up to 34 tonnes of green hydrogen daily. This initiative was part of the European Commission's Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) dedicated to hydrogen. The grant was officially confirmed in 2024, reflecting the government's confidence in Lhyfe's capabilities to innovate and address complex technological challenges. Matthieu Guesné, the founder and CEO of Lhyfe, highlighted the grant as a significant milestone that showcases the company's commitment to decarbonization and investment in cutting-edge technologies. The partnership with Bpifrance for public funding will support the project, with an initial advance of €18M to kickstart new phases.
