Saudi Arabia, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy, has made significant strides in global renewable energy and green hydrogen exports. The Kingdom, in collaboration with ACWA Power, signed strategic agreements and MoUs with European stakeholders to facilitate the export of clean energy to Europe. This move is part of Saudi Arabia's broader strategy to enhance its presence in global energy markets, especially through its involvement in the IMEC project, aiming to strengthen international logistics and energy infrastructure. The agreements include partnerships with leading European energy firms and technology providers to develop renewable energy projects within Saudi Arabia and build HVDC transmission corridors for efficient energy delivery. A key highlight is the agreement with Germany's EnBW for the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub, set to be operational by 2030. This hub will integrate renewable-powered generation, electrolysis, ammonia conversion, and an export terminal to supply global markets with competitively priced clean hydrogen. These initiatives not only consolidate Saudi Arabia's role in global energy transition but also align with Vision 2030 sustainability goals, emphasizing energy security and regional connectivity.
