The ACME Group, a renewable energy-focused company, is set to establish the first green hydrogen project in the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (Tata SEZ) located in Gopalpur, Odisha. The project aims to produce 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia by 2029, contributing to the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors and supporting India's shift towards a more sustainable future. Anil Kumar Taparia, the Chief Operating Officer of ACME Green Hydrogen SBU, highlighted the project's importance in driving environmental progress. The company has partnered with Japan's IHI Corporation to ensure the supply of the entire 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia. This initiative is expected to create more than 1,000 employment opportunities, directly and indirectly, in the region. The announcement was made during the groundbreaking and inauguration of several industrial projects at the Tata SEZ, with the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. ACME Group's subsidiary, Acme Solar, known for its 1200-MW projects, has been actively contributing to the renewable energy sector. The company's strong operational capacity and ongoing construction projects demonstrate its commitment to sustainable growth. The collaboration with IHI Corporation and the establishment of this green hydrogen project represent a significant step towards fostering a cleaner and more eco-friendly industrial landscape in the region.
