In a significant move towards sustainable energy development, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Aayog and the ISEG Foundation to implement a comprehensive State Energy Transition Roadmap. The initiative, formalised in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, aims to enhance the share of renewable energy in the state’s power capacity additions. Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the state’s commitment to a diversified clean energy mix, which includes solar, wind, pumped hydro, battery storage, and green hydrogen. The state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy sets ambitious targets for various energy sources and infrastructure to meet the growing electricity demand sustainably. With investments worth ₹5.78 lakh crore secured in the clean energy sector, Andhra Pradesh is on track to lead India's green energy future, emphasizing a low-carbon economy and inclusive energy planning.
