- Eni and UK Government achieve financial close on core carbon transport and storage project of HyNet Industrial Cluster, marking a significant milestone for the region.
- EET's Hydrogen Production Plant (HPP1) project, as part of the HyNet infrastructure, will contribute to massive reductions in carbon emissions, with the capacity to capture 600,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
- Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, with projects like HPP1 and plans for HPP2 and Sustainable Aviation Fuels, is poised to be a world-leading energy transition hub, driving decarbonisation and fuel security in the UK.
- EET's investment program of US$3 billion over the next five years aims to establish a major energy transition hub in North-West England, supporting the UK's low carbon transformation and creating skilled job opportunities.
Essar Energy Transition (EET) has expressed congratulations to Eni and the UK Government for achieving financial close on the core carbon transport and storage project of the HyNet Industrial Cluster, which will facilitate massive reductions in carbon emissions and attract much-needed investment to North West England and North Wales. EET's Hydrogen Production Plant (HPP1) is set to become the UK's first large-scale low-carbon hydrogen production plant, capturing 600,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. The Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, where EET operates, is positioned at the center of HyNet and is undergoing transformation into a leading energy transition hub, with plans for carbon capture, hydrogen production, and Sustainable Aviation Fuels. Tony Fountain, Managing Partner of EET, highlighted the significance of this milestone for the North West industry, emphasizing the potential for growth and the establishment of Stanlow as a decarbonised refinery. EET's CEO Joe Seifert praised the progress of the HPP1 project within the HyNet initiative. EET's investment program aims to invest US$3 billion over five years to support the UK's low carbon transformation and create employment opportunities in the region.
