The transport ministry in India, specifically in New Delhi, has put forth a new proposal regarding the registration plates for hydrogen fuel vehicles. According to a draft notification released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, a distinct category of registration number plates is being suggested for vehicles operating on hydrogen fuel. The proposed plates will have color-coded designs to differentiate between various types of vehicles. For commercial vehicles, the top half of the number plate will be green and the bottom half blue, with figures in yellow. Private vehicles will have a similar design with green and blue colors and white figures. In the case of cabs for rent, the proposed plates will feature a combination of black and blue, with yellow figures for easy identification. This initiative aims to promote the use of hydrogen fuel in the transportation sector in India. By introducing these color-coded plates, the government seeks to create awareness and facilitate the identification of hydrogen-powered vehicles on the roads, contributing to the country's efforts towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.
