The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has partnered with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to advance India's bioenergy and bio-hydrogen sectors. This strategic collaboration aims to promote technological exchange, joint training, and policy advocacy to strengthen India's clean energy transition. The partnership includes the establishment of a joint knowledge center focused on bioenergy innovation, sharing of technological and infrastructural resources, and co-organization of training programs to develop skilled professionals for the growing biofuels industry in India. Additionally, IOCL and IBA will collaborate on research and development initiatives and engage in policy advocacy to promote the adoption of biogas across the country. By working with central and state governments, the two organizations aim to propose effective policy incentives and facilitate the implementation of bioenergy projects at scale. The partnership also aims to strengthen industry-academia-policy linkages to create a supportive ecosystem for the widespread adoption of biofuels and green hydrogen technologies in India. The Indian Biogas Association, established in 2011 and restructured in 2015, is dedicated to promoting biogas and has partnered with the German Biogas Association to enhance sustainable energy efforts. The new MoU with IOCL further highlights IBA's commitment to a cleaner, greener future for India, with a focus on biogas and bio-hydrogen solutions. This initiative is a positive step towards driving India's transition to more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources.
