The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended the bid submission deadline for the production and supply of green ammonia, aligning with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Originally set for June 26, 2025, bids are now due by June 30. The tender, issued under the SIGHT Scheme, Mode 2A, Tranche I, targets an annual production of 724,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia for 13 fertilizer plants in India. SECI is responsible for demand aggregation and establishing long-term offtake agreements to provide commercial predictability over a decade, promoting market growth for green hydrogen derivatives. This initiative aims to meet the country's demand for sustainable alternatives in the fertilizer industry, contributing to India's transition towards a greener and more environmentally friendly energy sector.
