Cadiz Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hoku Energy Limited to investigate the establishment of a major clean energy campus at Cadiz Ranch in California's Mojave Desert. This partnership grants Hoku Energy an exclusive three-year option to develop over 10,000 acres of land for a project that may involve green hydrogen production, renewable power generation, battery storage, and digital infrastructure like data centers. By partnering with Hoku Energy, Cadiz demonstrates its support for sustainable development initiatives in California and the Southwest. The agreement also enables Cadiz to continue existing operations, including agriculture, the Mojave Groundwater Bank, and a separate green hydrogen project with RIC Energy. Additionally, it sets aside 400 acres for potential commercial uses, with Hoku having the first right to supply power to these areas. This collaboration aims to position Cadiz Ranch as a focal point for clean energy innovation and infrastructure in the southwestern United States, underscoring the company's dedication to environmentally conscious practices and energy sustainability.
