Hyundai Motor recently revealed its initiative to supply pollution-free hydrogen vehicles for the hydrogen cleaning vehicle conversion project in Busan, South Korea. The project, in partnership with Busan City, aims to replace old diesel waste cleaning vehicles with environmentally friendly hydrogen vehicles to enhance the city's atmospheric environment and promote a sustainable hydrogen energy circulation economy. At the unveiling event attended by key officials, Hyundai Motor introduced two types of hydrogen cleaning vehicles - Amroll Truck and Compressed Development Vehicle, designed to efficiently handle different types of waste like household waste and recyclable materials. These vehicles, based on Hyundai Motor's Exient hydrogen electric trucks, can travel up to 380 kilometers on a single charge. The initiative plans to introduce a total of 65 hydrogen cleaning cars by 2028, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable urban environment. The project not only aims to reduce emissions but also improve the working environment for waste management employees through low engine noise and vibration. Hyundai Motor will initially supply five hydrogen cleaning cars to specific districts in Busan this year and expand to more regions in the following years to support Busan's air environment improvement policy and circular economy goals.
