The plan outlines ambitious goals to advance clean and low-carbon hydrogen adoption in various industries, aiming for large-scale applications in metallurgy, ammonia synthesis, and more by 2027. The initiative seeks to establish commercial models for hydrogen energy in transportation, power generation, and energy storage. The province plans to develop technologies for clean and low-cost hydrogen production, with a focus on 'PV + ESS' solutions for efficient hydrogen production and utilization. Additionally, Henan is set to promote green methanol and ammonia production through innovative hydrogen-carbon and hydrogen-nitrogen coupling methods, respectively. Henan also aims to accelerate the application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and expand the scope of demonstration projects for hydrogen energy applications. Efforts include developing hydrogen-powered ships, aviation, and rail transit equipment, as well as integrating hydrogen and electricity in green industrial microgrids for optimized resource utilization. The province is providing policy support for the industrialization of low-carbon technologies like hydrogen-based metallurgy. Local governments are encouraged to formulate supportive policies for hydrogen production from renewable energy sources, with an emphasis on reducing production costs through innovative measures.
