CaetanoBus is preparing to introduce a new generation of zero-emission buses, ranging from 8.5m to 18m, at the UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg. These buses will include both battery electric (BEV) and fuel cell electric (FCEV) versions. The 18-meter model will even have a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) version, offering a versatile solution for public transportation. One of the key highlights of these buses is the technology integration from Chinese rolling stock giant CRRC, ensuring cutting-edge components. The BEV buses will incorporate CATL's BC5 battery systems, providing substantial energy capacities for different bus sizes and exceptional reliability over more than a decade. On the fuel cell side, CaetanoBus will utilize Toyota technology with CATL battery packs to power their hydrogen buses. Additionally, CRRC will contribute powertrain components and an advanced 6-in-1 inverter system to enhance efficiency and safety. Nuno Lago de Carvalho from CaetanoBus praises the collaboration with CRRC, emphasizing the rigorous testing and joint development efforts to deliver top-notch e-mobility engineering. This innovative approach ensures flexibility, efficiency, and seamless integration of advanced systems across all bus configurations, marking a significant step towards a sustainable transportation future.
