Toyota unveiled the GR Yaris Rally2 H2 Concept, a hydrogen-powered rally car, during Rally Finland's opening events. The car is based on the gas-powered GR Yaris Rally2 and runs on liquid hydrogen fuel, offering near-zero emissions while retaining the traditional sounds of an internal combustion engine (ICE). The development of the hydrogen-powered rally car took place in Toyota's TGR-WRT headquarters in Jyväskylä, Finland, with testing conducted on both gravel and tarmac. The car, designed to comply with WRC Rally2 class regulations, shares similarities with its gas-powered counterpart in chassis and bodykit. The use of liquid hydrogen as fuel allows for a cleaner alternative in motorsport while providing an experience familiar to rally enthusiasts.
