Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched a hydrogen-fuelled truck in Raipur, underscoring the state's commitment to green energy. The initiative is part of a larger strategy to propel India towards becoming a zero-carbon emission country by 2070. The hydrogen-powered truck, a joint effort between Indian and international partners, is a milestone in the promotion of sustainable transportation. Each truck, equipped with three hydrogen tanks, has the capacity to transport up to 40 tonnes of cargo over a distance of 200 km. This collaboration between Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited and Adani Natural Resources signifies a significant step towards balancing industrial development with environmental conservation. Notably, these hydrogen fuel cell battery-powered trucks offer performance comparable to diesel trucks in terms of distance and load-carrying capacity. However, their environmental impact is far more favorable, as they emit only water vapor and hot air, producing minimal noise. The launch of this clean energy solution demonstrates the state's dedication to innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector, setting a positive example for the wider adoption of green technologies.
