U.S.-based hydrogen fuel cell company, Plug Power Inc., has partnered with German chemical company BASF to enhance its hydrogen liquefaction plants. The collaboration will see Plug Power integrating BASF's Private Pd15 DeOxo catalysts and Oxygen and water removal solutions into its operations, focusing on plants with capacities ranging from 30 to 90 tons per day. BASF's Senior Vice President, Detlef Ruff, expressed pride in the approval received from other industry leaders in the green hydrogen sector, emphasizing the provision of reliable end-to-end solutions. Similarly, Plug Power's Vice President, Daniel Kennedy, highlighted the expected benefits for clients in terms of economic viability. Plug Power's recent initiatives include a $525 million debt facility deal with Yorkville Advisors and the establishment of a hydrogen liquefaction facility in Louisiana through a joint venture with Olin Corporation. Despite the company's Q4 revenue falling below analyst estimates, there is optimism surrounding the collaboration with BASF and the potential for operational improvements.
