Edmonton Airports, managing the Edmonton International Airport, has joined the H2CanFly/H2CanadaEnvol consortium at the Paris Air Show to advance hydrogen and sustainable aviation technologies. Serving as a full ecosystem partner, the airport is committed to achieving net-zero emissions in aviation. The region of Edmonton is a significant hydrogen production hub, with YEG hosting Canada's first airport-based hydrogen hub. By collaborating with H2CanFly, YEG aims to contribute expertise and resources to enable the future use of hydrogen-powered aircraft and infrastructure development. The consortium, comprising over 50 partners, including aerospace, academia, and government entities, focuses on accelerating hydrogen and electrification technologies to reduce emissions and support Canada's net-zero goals. YEG will also play a key role on H2CanFly's board of directors. This initiative signifies a collaborative effort towards innovative, scalable solutions for sustainable industries, emphasizing the transformative potential of hydrogen in the aerospace sector.
