ACWA Power, based in Riyadh, has recently signed agreements with Danantara Indonesia and PT Pertamina to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy generation capacity in Indonesia. The agreements cover a wide range of projects aimed at boosting the country's clean energy initiatives. The collaboration with Danantara Indonesia will focus on projects related to renewable energy generation, combined cycle gas turbines, green hydrogen, and water desalination. On the other hand, the partnership with PT Pertamina includes the development of 500 megawatts of renewable energy and gas-to-power projects, as well as green hydrogen initiatives. The total project funding for these endeavors is set to reach $10 billion. ACWA Power's statement highlights the importance of these partnerships in helping Indonesia achieve its renewable energy targets, such as reaching a 34% mix of renewables in its total energy mix by 2034 and further increasing it to 87% by 2060. This ambitious goal positions Indonesia on a path to becoming a key player in the clean energy sector in the years to come.
