Charbone Hydrogen Corporation, listed as TSX-V:CH and OTCQB:CHHYF, has entered into a collaboration with Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC SDN BHD to support the establishment of its inaugural ultra-high purity (UHP) hydrogen production facility in Malaysia. The plant, based on Charbone's modular and scalable production model, is designated to be part of a decentralized ecosystem targeted at meeting the needs of local consumers. The companies foresee the potential extension of this initiative to encompass other markets in the Asia-Pacific region, as mentioned in a statement by Charbone. Within the agreement framework, Charbone will offer its expertise in project development spanning areas like site selection, power agreements, front-end engineering and design (FEED), and supplier identification. In return for their contributions, Charbone anticipates a one-time fee, which could be in cash or an equity stake in the project, aiming to expand its revenue sources through similar collaborations on a global scale. CEO Dave Gagnon expressed satisfaction at the recognition of Charbone's efforts in establishing a sustainable ecosystem model over the past five years, illustrating its applicability beyond North America. Gagnon highlighted the promising hydrogen markets of North America and Asia-Pacific, with the latter being the current focus for the company. Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC Chairman Kamshul Kasim lauded the partnership as a significant milestone in propelling Malaysia's shift towards clean energy, praising Charbone's modular and decentralized strategy for harmonizing with their vision to hasten the adoption of green hydrogen in Malaysia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, Charbone disclosed ongoing negotiations for similar partnerships in diverse regions as part of its global expansion strategy.
