The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced the 'Green Hydrogen Valley' initiative to foster the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives, making it India's largest ecosystem for this purpose. Through collaboration with industry and academia, the state aims to boost domestic research and development, enhance expertise in green hydrogen technologies, and establish testing facilities. Following the Green Hydrogen Summit in Amaravati, the state is focusing on production, storage, distribution, and application of green hydrogen in various sectors like industry, transport, and power generation. With targets set to achieve significant milestones by 2027 and 2029, Andhra Pradesh plans to manufacture electrolyzers, produce green hydrogen, establish renewable energy transmission infrastructure, and reduce production costs. Recognizing the importance of green hydrogen in the transition to a sustainable economy, the state aligns its efforts with the National Green Hydrogen Mission of India to cultivate a robust and self-sustaining green hydrogen ecosystem.
