India has made impressive advancements in green hydrogen development, with plans to allocate significant production and manufacturing capacities to various companies. The nation aims to achieve 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen production by 2030, attract investments, and create jobs. Through initiatives like the National Green Hydrogen Mission and supportive policies, India is on track to become a major global exporter of green hydrogen by 2030, contributing significantly to decarbonisation efforts and working towards energy independence and Net Zero emissions. The government has launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme and identified major ports to develop as Green Hydrogen hubs. Additionally, 15 states have announced policies to bolster the growth of green hydrogen in the country. With a strong focus on renewable energy and a strategic vision for green hydrogen production, India is positioning itself as a leader in the global transition towards sustainable energy.
