India has made significant progress in the development of green hydrogen by allocating substantial production and manufacturing capacities to companies. With 862,000 tonnes per annum production capacity and 3,000 MW annual electrolyser manufacturing capacity assigned to 19 companies and 15 firms respectively, India is actively promoting the use of green hydrogen. The country has also launched pilot projects in crucial sectors such as steel, mobility, and shipping to test the viability and benefits of green hydrogen applications. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, shared India's strategic vision at the 'World Hydrogen Summit 2025' in Rotterdam, emphasizing the nation's commitment to sustainable energy practices. This development showcases India's dedication to reducing carbon emissions and embracing sustainable solutions in the energy sector.
