Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has partnered with Bengaluru-based Ohmium International to jointly develop integrated green hydrogen-based power solutions in India. The collaboration aims to support the country's clean energy goals by advancing hydrogen as a low-emission fuel for mobility and industrial use. Speaking at the partnership announcement event, Indian Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the significance of hydrogen as the fuel of the future and expressed confidence in India becoming a global automobile industry leader through innovation in alternative fuels. The government is actively promoting hydrogen trials, setting up refuelling stations, and exploring the conversion of vehicles to hydrogen power. Minister Gadkari emphasized the need for cost-effective green hydrogen production, suggesting the use of materials like bamboo and municipal waste. Additionally, developments in battery technology were discussed as part of India's sustainable energy innovation efforts. The partnership between TKM and Ohmium signifies a major step towards building a green hydrogen ecosystem in India, with support from industry stakeholders and government initiatives for a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
