Global investment firm Carlyle has introduced Revera Energy, a platform dedicated to developing, building, owning, and operating renewable energy, energy storage, and green hydrogen projects in Australia and the UK. Revera will initially focus on assets from renewables developer Amp Energy, with a significant portfolio in Australia comprising battery energy storage systems, solar PV, and wind generation concentrated in the National Electricity Market (NEM). Projects like the Bungama BESS in South Australia and utility-scale solar developments exemplify this portfolio. The platform will also include the Cape Hardy green hydrogen project in South Australia, aiming to produce green hydrogen and ammonia using wind and solar. In the UK, Revera Energy will acquire late-stage battery energy storage projects to enhance grid resiliency. Carlyle noted that Revera will leverage existing relationships with financing partners to accelerate its growth.
