The South Korean automaker aims to strengthen its position in the global hydrogen energy transition and North American commercial vehicle sector with the Xcient truck, which runs on an upgraded 180 kW hydrogen fuel cell system and a 72 kWh battery pack. The truck is equipped with 10 hydrogen tanks totaling 68 kg in capacity, providing a range of 450 miles. The interior of the Xcient cabin has been enhanced for driver comfort, featuring a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and an Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) with various safety features. Ken Ramirez, head of Global Commercial Vehicle and Hydrogen Business at Hyundai, highlighted the company's dedication to delivering cutting-edge solutions and fostering partnerships to drive innovation and sustainability.
