At the Paris Air Show, Edmonton International Airport announced its partnership with H2CanFly as a strategic, full ecosystem partner. This collaboration aims to advance hydrogen-powered aviation and infrastructure development, aligning with Canada's net-zero emissions goals. Edmonton Airports, which operates YEG, Canada's largest airport by land area, is situated in Edmonton, Alberta, a significant hydrogen-producing region in Canada. YEG is developing a hydrogen hub on-site to facilitate testing, demonstrating, and deploying hydrogen-powered technologies. By joining H2CanFly, a pan-Canadian initiative focused on accelerating hydrogen and electrification technologies, YEG will play a vital role in advancing hydrogen-powered aircraft, certification pathways, and associated infrastructure. The partnership underlines Canada's progress towards net-zero aviation emissions. With more than 50 partners from the aerospace industry, academia, and government, H2CanFly offers access to aircraft platforms, testing facilities, and collaborative funding to reduce environmental impact. YEG's involvement in the consortium includes a seat on H2CanFly's board of directors, where it will collaborate with key industry players.
