Hyundai, the South Korean automotive giant, has initiated the construction of its first production plant in the Middle East, specifically in Saudi Arabia. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East (HMMME) facility occurred at the King Salman Automotive Cluster within King Abdullah Economic City. This development signifies a key milestone in Hyundai's global manufacturing expansion strategy. HMMME is a joint venture between Hyundai and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with the fund holding a majority share. The plant is scheduled to start its operations by the final quarter of 2026, with a production capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year, encompassing both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine models.
