L&T Energy GreenTech Ltd (LTEG), a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has announced plans to establish India's largest green hydrogen plant at Indian Oil Corporation's (IOCL) Panipat Refinery in Haryana. The plant, with a capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, will operate round the clock using renewable energy. This development is in line with the Government of India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and IOCL's strategy to decarbonize its operations. The green hydrogen will be supplied to IOCL for 25 years, further supporting India's net-zero ambitions. The plant will utilize high-pressure alkaline electrolyzers manufactured at L&T Electrolysers' facility in Gujarat.
Subramaniam Sarma, Deputy Managing Director and President at L&T, expressed the company's commitment to lead India's energy transition through this project.
