ACWA Power has taken significant steps in boosting global energy connectivity by signing agreements and MoUs with international partners to establish a Green Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Export value chain between Saudi Arabia and Europe. The agreements, signed in Riyadh during a workshop led by ACWA Power and attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy, aim to diversify Saudi Arabia's energy mix and reinforce its position as a reliable global energy supplier. The event, part of the Kingdom's involvement in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) project, gathered government officials from Saudi Arabia, Greece, France, and Germany, as well as executives from global companies. Notable agreements include a multi-party MoU with European companies to evaluate large-scale renewable energy projects for electricity export to Europe. ACWA Power also signed individual MoUs with technical and technology partners to enhance cross-border energy infrastructure reliability and efficiency. A significant Joint Development Agreement with EnBW highlights collaboration on the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub, which will integrate renewable electricity generation, desalination plants, and an export terminal to meet global clean energy demands by 2030. These agreements showcase Saudi Arabia's strategic role in the IMEC project, leveraging its geographical location and competitive advantages in renewable energy. They are in line with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives to improve global energy security and transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
